Teaching conditions private lessons
1. classes are held at the premises of YAMAHA Music School Zurich.
Federally mandated prohibitions on face-to-face instruction, will continue in the form of distance learning online. A break in the lessons is only possible with the express consent of the school management.
2.lessons are given weekly. 10 lessons are booked in each case, which must be attended in a quarter or within 3 months.
3. Classes for school-age children are based on the vacation schedule of the elementary school of the city of Zurich with the following exceptions where classes are held for all students: Sechseläuten, Knabenschiessen. Classes are also held on Saturdays before school vacations. During the summer vacations and the Christmas vacations there are no classes unless the teachers make an appointment in agreement with the students.
4. course fees are to be paid in advance, as a total payment or in three monthly installments.
5. teaching materials (teaching aids) are part of the lessons and are not included in the tuition fee.
6. absences due to illness can unfortunately not be refunded. If the absence is reported at least 24 hours before the lesson and a doctor's certificate is presented within 1 week, the lesson can be made up within 2 weeks after consultation with the teacher.
7. in case of serious and long-term illness of the student, the management of the YAMAHA Music School Zurich must be notified immediately in writing. A pro rata refund of the tuition fee is possible, provided that the management of the YAMAHA Music School Zurich is notified in writing in advance and an appropriate medical certificate is submitted.
8. classes cancelled due to the teacher's inability to attend will be held as substitute classes by arrangement, or the tuition fee will be refunded. The student does not have the right to receive lessons from the same teacher. A change of teacher does not constitute a special reason for termination.
9. The contract is concluded for an indefinite period and can be terminated in writing by either party at the end of the agreed subscription. The cancellation must be received by YAMAHA Music School Zurich in writing 1 month before the end of the subscription, otherwise the contract will be automatically extended for a further course period of 10 lessons. The mutual right of termination for good cause is not affected by this agreement. If the student provides an important reason for the immediate termination of the contract, a pro rata reimbursement of costs is possible. An important reason exists, for example, in the case of a persistent illness certified by a doctor's certificate, in the case of relocation, if the student can no longer reasonably be expected to travel the distance to YAMAHA Music School Zurich. In this case, the student will be reimbursed on a pro rata basis. Any statutory rights of objection also remain unaffected.

Teaching conditions group classes
1. the lessons take place in the rooms of the YAMAHA Music School Zurich.
2. federally mandated prohibitions on face-to-face classes, will continue in the form of distance learning online. If classes have to be split up due to distance regulations, the lessons will be continued alternately as face-to-face lessons or online lessons. Classes may be paused only with the express consent of the school administration.
3. classes are taught in semesters (6 months consisting of 2 quarters) quarter 1 (Q1) August-October, quarter 2 (Q2) November-January, quarter 3 (Q3) February-April, quarter 4 (Q4) May-July. Classes consist of 38 units per school year.
4. Classes for school-age children are based on the vacation schedule of the elementary school of the city of Zurich with the following exceptions where classes are held for all students: Sechseläuten, Knabenschiessen. Classes also take place on Saturdays before school vacations.
5. you can join the ROBBIE, KRAKI and MUSIC WONDERLAND courses at any time. You only pay the difference until the end of the semester. After the age of 18 months, ROBBIE children may switch to KRAKI. Younger siblings may join KRAKI for free until 1 year old. After that 50% of the course fee will be charged.
6. group courses such as JUNIOR MUSIC COURSE, MUSIC ADVENTURE, INSTRUMENTAL GROUP COURSES etc, have a fixed course start date. It is still possible to join up to 4 weeks after the start of the course.
7. the course fees correspond to a quarter of the annual fee and are to be paid in advance as a quarterly payment (see school holiday calendar) or in monthly installments. Fees do not accrue during non-school hours and holidays and are therefore not included in the annual fee, therefore a refund for the vacation period is not possible.
8. instrumental group courses and Yamaha Music Education System courses are designed for lessons of 50 or 60 minutes. This is based on a minimum course enrollment of 4 students. If the number of students decreases to 3 due to withdrawals, the lessons are reduced to 40 or 45 minutes, and to 30 minutes if there are only 2 students. The cost of the course remains the same, as the students receive more intensive and personalized instruction. If there are less than 2 students, the course will not take place or will be dissolved (cancellation of contract). The remaining student then has the possibility to buy a new subscription and take e.g. single lessons.

14. the contract is concluded for an indefinite period. The minimum contract period for YAMAHA MUSIC EDUCATION SYSTEM courses such as JUNIOR MUSIC COURSE, MUSIC ADVENTURE, etc. is 6 months (1 semesters). Thereafter, the contract may be terminated in writing by either party every 6 months to the end of the semester. The termination must be received by YAMAHA Music School Zurich in writing 1 month before the end of the 6 months, otherwise the contract will be automatically renewed every quarter for another semester. The mutual right of termination for good cause is not affected by this agreement. If the student provides an important reason for the immediate termination of the contract, a pro rata reimbursement of costs is possible. An important reason exists, for example, in the case of a persistent illness certified by a doctor's certificate, in the case of relocation, if the student can no longer reasonably be expected to travel the distance to YAMAHA Music School Zurich. In the event of a reduction or dissolution of a group, the Music School will endeavor to form a new group. If this is not possible under reasonable conditions, the contracting parties have an extraordinary right of termination. The student will then be reimbursed on a pro rata basis. Any statutory rights of objection also remain unaffected.
15. Changes to the contract must be made in writing.
